Brits prepare for sizzling hot Valentine’s Day… with a CURRY

  • Forget champagne and oysters – curry’s a better bet if you want to get lucky this Valentine’s Day.

And traditional favourites like steak and a roast dinner are also at the top of the list when it comes to the foods of love.

A study found 35% adore a juicy steak before getting frisky, with 22% plumping for a full roast dinner. But 17% reckon nothing puts them more in the mood than a homemade curry.

Only one in 20 adults think a traditional romantic meal of oysters is a sexy start to the evening.

But fish is a top option, with 15% preferring a light bite of salmon.

The HelloFresh research found most women still believe the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

But men do not rate their kitchen prowess, with only 34% believing in their power to cook their way into the bedroom.

HelloFresh co-founder and head chef Patrick Drake said: “When it comes to food to get you in the mood, forget fancy delicacies. It’s the good old British classics that are the clear winners.”
