Kate Middleton title: The shock new title Duchess has earned during lockdown

KATE, DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE has been a constant presence throughout the coronavirus crisis. Her hard work seems to have paid off as she has earned herself a surprising new title.

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 38, has worked tirelessly to reassure Britons amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis. From jumping on video calls with key workers and charities to giving TV interviews and launching a nationwide photography project, she has not let a week of lockdown go by without her presence being felt.

Kate has proven herself to be an exemplar royal during these trying times and a new poll suggests her heartfelt efforts have paid off.

According to a recent poll by Perspectus Global, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge was voted “the coolest female” in May 2020.

The poll asked 2,000 British women to pick their favourite female of the moment in May 2020 and Kate came out on top.

Other winners include Michelle Obama and Queen Elizabeth II who came in third place after Kate.

These are the top 10 coolest females of the moment

2. Michelle Obama – 21 percent

3.The Queen – 20 percent

Meghan Markle just missed out on making the top 10 and came in at 15th place with nine percent of the vote.

Perspectus Global spokeswoman Evie Porter said: “During these strange and uncertain times, it’s fantastic to see strong, powerful women coming to the fore.

“From her Hold Still photography project to a video call with a new mum and virtual bingo session with care home residents, Kate has shown just how cool and inspiring she is.”

More than 50 percent of the women who took part in the poll said the trait that defines whether someone is cool is ‘ a strong sense of their own identity.’

While in the past Kate risked being overshadowed by moderniser Meghan she seems to have reclaimed the spotlight following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal withdrawal.

Many have praised the honest way in which Kate and William have spoken about how they are finding lockdown.

Ahead of Easter Kate and William spoke to the BBC about how they were finding homeschooling and other lockdown challenges.

Kate revealed they were keeping Prince George and Charlotte to a strict schedule and hadn’t let them know it was the Easter holidays.

She said: “Don’t tell the children, we’ve actually kept it going through the holidays. I feel very mean! (laughs).

“The children have got such stamina I don’t know how. Honestly, you get to the end of the day and you write down the list of all the things that you’ve done in that day.

“So you pitch a tent take the tent down again, cook, bake.

“You get to the end of the day – they have had a lovely time – but it is amazing how much you can cram into one day that’s for sure.”
