90 per cent of workers ‘don’t see sunlight during winter months’
More than 90 per cent of workers say that they usually do not see sunlight during the week over the winter months, a new survey claims today.
Only a quarter said they take a lunch break most days and a third said they “never or hardly ever” go outside the office to clear their heads.
Reasons listed for leaving the desk were “nipping to the toilet” (61 percent), fetching something from the printer (46 percent) and making a drink (59 percent).
Kat Jones, marketing manager for cereal bar makers Nature Valley UK, which carried out the research, said: “More than half of UK professionals 24 and older, do not take the full lunch break they’re entitled to, with the average lunch break lasting just 22 minutes – that’s a third less than it was six years ago.”
