Public vote Toy Story top children’s film of all time
A new survey has gone to infinity and beyond to find the nation’s favourite children’s films and it’s official – Toy Story is the most-loved kids’ movie of all time.
Vue Cinemas quizzed 1,500 British adults about their film preferences, and the 1995 release has been voted as the greatest children’s film ever made (via UniLad).
The second most popular choice was Home Alone, while the Lion King, Shrek and Harry Potter came in third, fourth and fifth respectively.
The results also revealed that nine out of 10 adult film fans still watch kids’ movies, and one in four adults go to the cinema to see them, whether or not they’re accompanying children.
The nation’s top choice, Toy Story, has stood the test of time remarkably well, with a mix of groundbreaking animation, heartwarming storyline and themes of friendship. The original made a huge impact upon its release in 1995, making $373m at the worldwide box office.
The survey is also proof that movie lovers in Great Britain have excellent taste – the Standard has been saying the Toy Story movies are the best children’s films ever made for years, too.
Later this month, the final instalment in the series, Toy Story 4, opens in cinemas.
