Half of mums think they were more ATTRACTIVE than their daughter at her age
- A survey of 1,500 mothers aged 50 or older found that 51% think they were more attractive than their daughter at her age
If you’re a woman with a daughter, you may find it tempting to draw comparisons between the two of you.
Now, a survey of over 50s females with adult daughters has revealed that over half think they were more attractive when they were their daughter’s age.
Researchers from Ginger Research surveyed 1,500 mothers aged 50 or older on their relationship with their daughter.
The results revealed that 51 per cent secretly believe they were more attractive when they were their daughter’s age.
Meanwhile, 48 per cent said they were more stylish than their daughter at her age, and 25 per cent insisted they had fewer wrinkles.
Reasons given for this disparity included the fact that they didn’t have to juggle a career and family in the same way their daughters do (17 per cent), while 19 per cent said there was less of a binge drinking culture when they were younger, which kept them looking fresh and healthy.
However, one of the main reasons (68 per cent) was due to the fact that they simply had more time.
A spokeswoman from Ginger Research said: “We wanted to shine a light on how mothers view their daughters, and we were fascinated to see just how many secretly believe they scrubbed up better back in the day.”
