COVERAGE FOR BENSONS FOR BEDS
Are you getting enough sleep?
The NHS recommends adults getting around eight hours of sleep a night to function properly.
However, this depends on your age and individual circumstances.
Teenagers (14-17) should get 8-10 hours, according to Healthline, while school children (6-13) should get 9-11 hours.
Younger children, aged 3-5 should get 10-13 hours, while toddlers should get 11-14.
According to a survey commissioned by Bensons for Beds, Brits are only getting an average of 5.8 hours of sleep.
This means the annual shortfall in the UK is 23 billion hours of sleep.
The survey also found 49% of the nation feel moody and distracted when tired, while 34% function poorly.
